With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible." (Matt. 19:26)
This is a post that me and Jordan have heavy on our hearts. There are only 17 more days until we meet with Ansley's neurologist for her next appointment (July 8th). We have been praying nonstop since our last appointment in February for this day and it is quickly arriving. After the crushing blows in June (2009) and October, we came away from the February appt. rejoicing. Her neurologist was AMAZED at what Ansley could do. Part of that journey was you all joining with us and praying very specifically for Ansley's deliverance through God's power.
"I tell you the truth, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven. Again, I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven. For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them." (Matt. 18:18-19)
We have seen UNBELIEVABLE POWER when the saints come together in Christ's name. We are so blessed and unexplainably grateful that every single thing that we have prayed would happen in Ansley's life by July 8th would happen HAS happened...everything except for: her taking her first steps. We have wrestled with putting a post up asking all of you to pray very specifically that God would be glorified by giving Ansley her first steps. But, be it fear, doubt or spiritual attack, we have been hesitant to do so. Then, a series of events happened today.
1. Ansley met with her developmental specialist who constantly calls her a miracle and jokingly asks, "Now, why am I here again?" Today, we told her that we continue to see little progress with Ansley's "cruising" (walking with hands on coffee table, couch, wall, etc.). After she left we confided in each other that it really was looking like Ansley was not going to take her first steps by July 8th. Then, I set Ansley standing on the coffee table and she cruised from one end to the other--and then back again! She has never come close to doing anything remotely like this before! I called for Jordan who came running down the stairs with the camera... and Ansley did it again!
2. A friend sent us a post about a Doctor in Africa who received miraculous medical supplies at the 11th hour in the middle of the jungle. This doctor had been in Africa for several years without having received anything from home and a package was delivered that had been sent five months prior. A little girl had prayed so specifically that God would deliver the two specific items she asked to be sent that day. She prayed with unwaivering belief that the Lord would deliver the items they needed that day- because tomorrow would be too late. Then, the doctor quoted Isaiah 65:24: "Before they call I will answer." We got teared up reading the story about God's amazing provision...then Jordan said, "Wait a minute--It is five months since our last appointment with the neurologist...five months since we decided to start praying for Ansley to have taken her first steps by July 8th. "Before they call I will answer."
3. Then, just now as I am writing this post and looked up Isaiah 65:24 for an easy cut and paste (I know because it is such a long verse to type out!) My eyes caught the verse just above it:
They will not toil in vain
or bear children doomed to misfortune;
for they will be a people blessed by the LORD,
they and their descendants with them.
Wow! My heart stopped. I sit speechless. How awesome is our God?
So, I know it is crazy, impossible and insane (but that is becoming the norm for our beautiful little girl!). Please Pray everyday for the next 17 days...
God would be glorified by Ansley taking her first steps by July 8th.
"In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk.' Taking (her) by the right hand, he helped (her) up, and instantly (Ansley's) feet and ankles became strong. (She) jumped to (her) feet and began to walk. Then (she) went with them into the temple courts, walking and jumping, and praising God.When all the people saw (her) walking and praising God...they were filled with wonder and amazement at what had happened to (her)."
