Ansley's 2nd Birthday - Our God Saves!

*Sorry this took so long to get up... a storm knocked out our internet for a few days!*

Here is THE present that Rob and I worked on forever! He did the building and I did the finishing. The picture is kind of dark, but I love the way it turned out!

I have to thank my mom and (my sister in law's mom) Connie for doing the sewing while Claire and I watched. I did iron the seams, though!

Brother was VERY excited about the lap doodle writer he got Ansley. She is ob.sessed with these things!

"Strengthen the feeble hands..." I am not bragging on my girl, I am bragging on my God. Ansley's hands have started holding her writing utensils more like a pencil than just with a fist.

Can you hear the water in this picture??

I'm not kidding when I say these two are so in love with each other. Zachary's giving Ansley a kiss on her hand.

Getting ready for the polka dot party!

We did a sparkling juice toast again and oh dear... I cried worse than last year I'm afraid.

I tried to read the passage we found last year in Isaiah 35 title The Joy of the Redeemed. It is talking about the future glory of Zion and we have seen, with our own eyes, so much of the Lord's glory of this passage revealed in Ansley. It is so specific to the developmental struggles and problems associated with microcephaly and the cross of Jesus Christ has SHATTERED them. What a sweet song to sing! So, you can see why I could barely read it!

Isaiah 35

"The desert and the parched land will be glad;

the wilderness will rejoice and blossom.

Like the crocus, it will burst into bloom;

it will rejoice greatly and shout for jy.

they will see the glory of the LORD,

the splendor of our God.

Strengthen the feeble hands,

steady the knees that give way;

say to those with fearful hearts,

"Be strong, do not fear;

your God will come."

Then will the eyes of the blind be opened

and the ears of the deaf unstopped.

Then will the lame leap like a deer,

and the mute tongue shout for joy.

Water will gush forth in the wilderness

and streams in the desert.

They will enter Zion with singing;

everlasting joy will crown their heads.

Gladness and joy will overtake them,

and sorrow and sighing will flee away."

Oh, my God... how He has saved our sweet!!!

She loves her Grandma Jan!

She did not kid with her cupcake!!

She opened presents and was of course *captivated* by a new phone.

Probably tweeting about her party...

Sharing a little toast of her own with her main man, Daddy.

Thank you to everyone who came to celebrate with us. It was certainly a day of rejoicing and overwhelmingly thankful hearts! All praise and glory to God!

Summer Adventure Series I

Our first summer adventure was heading downtown to some of the fountains. Girlfriend's favorite game at home of splashing in the sink turned sour when she saw the giant streams of water leaping from the ground!

"Maybe I can reach it from here..."

A little coaxing from "Zach-a-wee" and Daddy did not help!

Brother, who is typically timid around the H2O, dove right in!

Well, he is still NOT a fan of water in his face, but hey... we're making progress!

Ansley clutched to Rob for dear life for the first half hour

But, once GF realized the water was not actually trying to take her out it was game on!

I even had a great chat with a mom we recognized from church!
A good time was had by all : )

You're Invited!

It's time to celebrate!! We are going to be having Ansley's 2nd Celebration and ya'll are invited again! We are doing the same thing as last year... an open house starting at 6:00 (there will be dinner) for everyone who has so faithfully supported and prayed for us over these last two years. I tear up even writing this because her celebration last year feels like yesterday. We were so overwhelmed with all that God had granted her and this year is no different. The mercy God has extended in answering our prayers for Ansley is beyond words. We find ourselves in the same position as we were so often in our early pleadings for her. There is nothing more do to but drop to our knees with our hands held high and let the tears fall, knowing that Jesus is interceding for us. There are no words that could express gratitude to our King for how he has rescued our daughter. There are no words to show how thankful we are for the power he has poured out on Ansley's behalf.

I remember when we were standing in front of our Jericho with our families, I prayed that God would touch her lips and give her words, so that she could speak His name and tell of his mighty acts in her. That is my greatest desire for her life. And here we stand, two years into this unbelievable journey with a daughter who is a medical phenomenon. I will never let it be said that the doctors were wrong. Our pediatrician has never been wrong about Ansley's brain. Our neurologist has certainly never been wrong about Ansley's brain. It is that God's power is stronger, that name of Jesus is capable of all things and He has graciously chosen to summon his power on behalf of Ansley and our pleas for her.

So, we hope to see you next Friday! If you need details, email us at countingalljoys@yahoo.com We would LOVE to see you!! You are welcome to stay the whole time, or just drop in and say hey for a bit. And again, no presents. Your love and support is gift enough!
