Rob's grandparents just shared their 60th wedding we took a fun weekend trip to Chicago to see the whole extended fam.
(You are about to experience an obscene amount of pictures...just felt it fair to warn you at the onset)

If you have a little boy who loves firefighters, as you know ours does...take him to the Firezone outside of Chicago...FU-UN!

He enthusiastically answered every question, so it only made sense that he was the demonstration helper :)

p.s. Chicago is cold.

Happy 60th to Grandpa Rich & Grandma DeeDee!!!

My sleeping buddy for the weekend.  We had 2 king beds and decided in favor of sleep, so Rob slept with Ansley in one and I slept with Zachary in the other.  Both kids (and parents) slept like champs.  Worth it!

"The Cloud Gate"...but we preferred to call it the bean.

The closest we got to a group picture...and there were over 50 of as you can see...not the best attempt :)

FUN getaway!

To whom much is given...

Psalm 27:13
"I will remain confident in this:  I will see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living."

Three years ago, almost to the day, we could barely peel ourselves up off the floor.  Only God.  Three years ago, they told us we were denial.  But MERCY.  Three years ago a seed of limitless hope was planted.  Then POWER.  Three years ago...God foreknew the depths of the GLORIOUS revealing this day of remembrance would bring.

We knew this test was coming...we knew the results would be good...we prepared ourselves for the only two options we could hear.  They would qualify Ansley for special educations services...or they wouldn't.  They use various standardized tests and a panel of developmental experts to give their two hour assessment and then comes...the meeting.

I couldn't control my shaky, squealing jig on the car ride this morning.  I wasn't trying to prepare for the sake of controlling my emotions...this isn't my first meeting with this school board...and I certainly didnt hold back my emotions or beliefs for Ansley's life the first time...but this was the RESULTS.

As the meeting began, each specialist went over their individual assessments of our sweet sweet and her beautiful God breathed results.  We knew there would only be one of two options to be said...but when the specialist spoke her wrap up statement...we came undone.

"...and as a result of our testing and assessments...Ansley does not have a disability."

We were not prepared to hear that language or those words spoken...the rejoicing tears came quickly and unhindered.  They discussed their shock at the specifics of her various brain deficits and explained what they expected to see... and agreed with the SONG OF HOPE and healing we sang sitting around that table.

Unfathomable.  He knew....sweet, merciful GOD ALMIGHTY...He knew.  If we ever doubted for a moment...the seed of HOPE was his hand.  A tender gift meant just for us.  It was planted to reveal His power.  What other words can I say??  There are none.  We have SEEN the GOODNESS of the Lord in the land of the living.  The Hope of Jesus Christ.

The Soccer Stud

Zachary just finished up his first soccer season and had a BLAST!!

He learned the ever important rule for a 5 year old team...
"Point to our goal...!"

And seriously...that coach of his is a hottie!!

 (SO excited!)

His faithful cheerleader never missed a chance to cheer on her "Brudder"

Summer has just begun (cue hallelujah chorus!) and "Camp A to Z" is now in session!!
